    If Something Goes Wrong

This is Outlook trying to route you through a Microsoft account. Close or cancel that window every time — never type your SOFX password into a Microsoft sign-in page. Then look for "Not Microsoft 365?" or "IMAP" to continue the manual setup.

First, sign in at mail.sofx.net with the same password. If webmail works, the password is right — recheck that your username is your full email address (not just the part before the @) in both the incoming and outgoing sections. If webmail fails too, contact support to reset your password.

That's the outgoing (SMTP) server. Check: server mail.sofx.net, port 465, SSL on — and make sure the outgoing username and password are filled in, even if your app marks them "optional." They are not optional.

Confirm ports: 993 incoming, 465 outgoing, encryption SSL/TLS on both. If your app has "STARTTLS," prefer SSL/TLS instead. Some office or hotel networks block mail ports — try again on your home network or cellular.

That's what we're here for. Email support@sofx.net or call +1 (843) 860-1141, Monday–Friday 9 AM–5 PM EST, and a real person will walk you through it.
